Moving and Rotating Bones
« on: July 19, 2010, 07:27:22 AM »
It makes some hours that i search why this problem happened to me, but i didn't found... so i thought that the forum is a good place for asking this question: Why when i try to move a bone he keep idle and don't move but when i try to rotate the bone it runs...
Any suggestions?

I think that the answer is that bones can only move (or stretch, they can rotate freely) in relation to a parent bone, so you need to set up parents, but I'm not certain. I did get a bit confused by this myself...

Yeah, i do some parents in this order: Null (Base) > RElb (Right Elbow) > Hamm (Hammer) & pipe (Pipe)
But when i try to move them, we see the numbers in the bones sections but the model isn't affect... it's a weird thing that happen frequently to me... :(

Have you set the vertices to the bones? Select vertices then click Bones-Set bone.

Is English your native language? I think we're having some communications issues, I don't understand what's not running, or what you are trying to achieve.

No my native language is french, but i think i found the problems (i was doing the bones in the middle by default and not in the middle of the meshes, so i can move them now...) but thanks!  ;D
