2D texture on 3D model...

Hi there!
I always wonder how could you know where to put the textures on de 512 x 512 image for the 3D model like that:
Any suggestions?

You have to unwrap and edit the UV map, how to do this depends on what modeling program you are using. What are you using?

Ok i just found it! Thanks for the help!  ;D



But the problem is that it appears all in white whit some black line and i cannot deduct where is what??
Any suggestions?

I'm guessing you just found a "Unwrap" button and clicked it. There's more to unwrapping to that. Google some tutorials on unwrapping in Cheetah 3d.

Yeah, this is a fairly big thing, there's a real craft to it. Sounds like you're on the right track though. If you mark the cut lines, along which the UV map will be unwrapped, by hand then you'll have an easier task of recognising the shapes that you end up with. As a humble pizza say's you'll need to look at tutorials specific to Cheetah 3d.
