Local vs. Internet
« on: March 12, 2010, 11:44:23 AM »
hello,

i've been attempting to host an internet network game.
i've followed nightblaze's tutorial and was able to create a networked game,
howver it was only local.
when i host, it continues to be listed as local.
has anyone else run into the problem?
even after creating a static IP and port forwarding, the host remaining local?

doing a performance of a game tomorrow in a gallery in NY with artists in LA and Berlin
was hoping they'd be able to multiplayer with me
(wish me luck!) :-*

thanks much!
billy

If you're using the current beta, multiplayer is pretty much broken.
You could try using Hamachi to simulate a local network over the internet. The Mac OS X client is called HamachiX, I believe.
Google might help you here.
Otherwise you are pretty much out of luck.

Bored much?

This was posted March 10th, 2010. You are commenting on April 23, 2010. The current beta then is not the same as the current beta now, there have been many changes to the engine.
