Music Thread
« on: December 04, 2009, 07:40:34 PM »
This thread is for showcasing original videogame-oriented music.
Regarding hosting: MediaFire or Rapidshare are fine, but it's far more convenient to the listener if you upload to a streaming site like Trax in Space or Supload.

Here's mine:

Powerful Authority (Combat) Redux - Remix of a MadTracker song I posted a while back in a different topic. Beware of clipping :3

The Flying Spaghetti Monster Soars Over the Valley of Gales - Bright & bouncy. Made in Renoise.

Note that songs posted here are not necessarily free-to-use unless otherwise noted.

People have probably heard these two:
Melody 11
Melody 12

No idea what to do with this one, people can use it if they want (Just give me credit) :
Dark Melody 3 (2nd alteration)

I use Reason 4, then edit a bit in Audacity.

I'm working on some music for my islands game.
Done in Garageband, the sounds are a little cheesy for my taste, I really need some new instruments.
I'd be interested to hear any feedback.

^^ Interesting. Could be better with a fresher choice of instruments.

A remake of a little tune from Star Control 3. I'm not planning to use it in any projects, but it's game-related, so... :P

Another one. I'm planning to build the band as models.
I think I should get an icompositions page going on. Tracks in Space seems to have some problems, you may have to download to listen.

Cheers Kurton, I particularly enjoyed "Destination Unknown". Kind of orchestral electronica, perfect for a space game.

People on IRC probably already heard this one
Depths Of Space
The song is being used by ghooly in OOK, and hopefully by me in my unannounced project.

Alright, this isn't exactly music, it's a headshot sound-effect that me and my friend produced by him slamming his cellphone against his microphone. You guys are free to use it if you want to.
Enjoy if you like it.

Sounds just like a click to me... I'm sure you can come up with something better, try with other things! :3 Like throw an apple onto the ground or something.

I would, but I don't have a portable mic. The only mic I have is the one attached to my iMac.

Then move the damn iMac or get your lazy ass down to the kitchen and grab a apple. :P

Personally, I've used raw meat and wooden dowels to simulate a fleshy bone break or head shot.

Yep, Wood+Meat=Best Combo for action sounds.

The punch effects in Indiana Jones were actually from slamming meat onto a wooden board.

Brian's Quest (v0) / DimensionBoss v0 - Candidates for the Dim3 Demo soundtrack. Both have me vocalizing awkwardly at some part or another.
