Thank you. I think it would look ten times better with some shaders...a nice normal map and a better texture can go a long way.

Sure can! You might try making a high poly version, baking the normals, and seeing how it works.

EDIT: Oops, I forgot, I won't comment too much. :D

Haha, same here. It's kinda hard not to, if you want to post you need a picture of a model.

I remember you sent me a link for a tutorial on that, but that was on my G4, and we sold that a couple weeks ago, losing all of my bookmarks.  :P

Do you still have the link around?

By link, I mean the baking normal maps from high poly models in Blender one. ;)

I believe this is the right link: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/Bump_and_Normal_Maps

And so as to prevent a lag, here's a paint can:

Alex, I'm hugely impressed with your texturing!
Here's a model that I'm working on, it's my first humanoid model, needs more work.
Criticism would be very welcome.

Very nice for a first human model.
Polycount?
You should add a lot more detail to the texture.

EDIT: Oops... short post. D:
Gonna model something later and put it up here, lol. :3

Bored much?

It's 246 polys for the figure and an extra 56 for the hair. My main aim was to keep the poly count as low as possible.
Yes, I'll definitely add more detail to the texture, particularly on the clothing.
Thanks.

Thank you! :D

Your model is very good, I like the soft texture approach. You've done a very good job of keeping the poly count low, so many people want to go way over the top with poly counts, but without the detail that goes with it.

Only crit I have is that I can't tell what type of character she is from her clothing, and her nose is almost invisible from the front.

nice robot.
I've been working on my new zombie model and this is it so far,
I plan on modifying the head shape slightly and adding hair.

It's ok. The head has enough polys, but not enough detail. Also, it's too big.
The shorts are kind of short. Oo
They texture is ok, but there is not detail. I'd model the shirt and shorts, it only requires 5 more edgeloops and it would probably look alot better.

Good job with the blood.

The head is not too big! Humans have big heads. :)

The dripping blood works alright, but the blood in the hole in his shirt just somehow doesn't work.
Edit: And of course I start a new page with my pictureless post. :P

Actually, its okay for you to post without a picture as long as it is related to a picture that has been posted. Just as long as it isn't >Picture< >post< >post< >post< >post< >post< >post< >Picture<.

I want people going through this thread to be able to see the pictures easily and without having to hunt for them.

@Eknytz: He's wearing shorty-shorts!! :D Is it some new style with guys? Because I'm never going to switch to it.

Criticism:

The blood doesn't look realistic.

When you are texturing blood, you need to consider how it got there. Was it splattered? Dripped? Spat? What?

Example I just made:

By the way, Do you want your game made for young teens down or 17+?

About the shorts being short, they are boxers.
Also liquid as it goes along a surface tends to stick to the surface unless it's at a sharp angle.
In addition the bloods from eating someone so it can be all over the place not from getting shot. (lol love the illustration by the way)
Also about the age group I'm not forming it around a specific age group but with the blood I guess 17+
